Project Brief:
Working in pairs, design and fabricate a packaged stool for a museum gift shop that can be displayed, sold, and used within the context of that specific institution.
Chosen Institution: Museum of Modern Art
Partner: Jackson Rollins
Project Constraints:
Seat height must be 18 inches.
The stool must comfortably support a seated person for one hour.
The stool must utilize Baltic/Russian birch plywood and a maximum of two additional materials.
The stool must be knock-down (KD)—assembly and disassembly must be easy and toolless.
Teams utilizing the CNC router for fabrication will be restricted to 500 linear inches of toolpath or 30 minutes of spindle time, whichever is greater.
